o be truly fashion-savvy, you need to know how to work those wardrobe extras. Our handy tear-out cards will provide you with the perfect style cheat sheet.
Styling Tips – EARRINGS and NECKLACES
- A deep, rounded neckline provides a nice contrasting “frame” for a short necklace, which draws the eye front and center to your pendant … and décolletage.
- Halters are great for showing some skin. Keep your chest bare and bring focus to your sexy shoulders and neck with a pair of oversize statement-making earrings .
- The chicest way to wear a long chain is on the outside of your collared shirt (not tucked inside), either hanging long and loose or wrapped one or twice.
- A pair of thin drop earrings counter-balances the boxy cut of a turtleneck. Shiny metals or sparkly danglers give a shot of glamour into this otherwise conservative top.
Styling Tips – BELTS
- Paring a low-slung belt with a roomy poet top is of the moment. Tuck the top into the belt, leaving about two inches of fabric peeking out at the bottom.
- An embossed or embellished leather waist belt with a funky buckle—Western-style or rhinestone—adds texture to ordinary jeans. Bring even more pop to the pairing with distressed denims.
- Long, dangly belts draw attention to an outfit, so keep the look simple by choosing a plain shift dress or jeans and a basic tee. Also, avoid big or ultra-colorful patterns—they class with the belt.
- A skinny belt cinched at the waist of a fitted cardigan is the hottest ladylike look right now. To ensure it's not stuffy, pick a metallic belt. Metallics, FYI, are the new neutrals.
Styling Tips – SHOES
- A long, swingy prairie skirt that hits at mid-calf plays off the height of wedge heels perfectly. You can also wear wedges with Bermuda shorts and your casual mini skirts.
- Skinny stilettos scream sex kitten, so pair them with equally alluring attire: Think form-fitting dresses or slinky pencil skits that hit at the knee. Steer clear of short hemlines and fishnets, which will look tacky.
- Chunky platforms are too overwhelming to be worn with anything tight or short. The fluid draping of a long trouser, on the other hand, provides the perfect balance to the heel's solid structure.
- If you're wearing rolled-up jeans with ballet flats , try one high cuff, which looks sleeker that multiple tolls. (Note: Socks are a big DON'T with cropped pants, so leave this look to high school kids.)
- The key to this pairing: The hem of the pants should hit the stiletto boot's instep, and you should be able to see the toe when you look down. Go for pants with slight boot cut—excess flair seems a little 1998.

- Ankle-strap heels are best worn with a slim straight cut skirt to help create a longer, more slender line. Ankle-straps shouldn't be worn with Capri pants or mid-calf skirts as they will make your legs look short and stubby.
- Bootcut jeans are a staple for Pinays and ankle boots are a comfy, practical choice especially for rainy weather. Just make sure that your jeans are long enough to show only an inch of the boot's heels. Tight, skinny jeans are a no-no.
- Kitten heels give you the slim-heeled look of a stiletto without the wobbly effect. Great with bias-cut skirts and dresses for an ultra femme look.
