he was Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 1993. Ten years after
that famous beauty pageant, Charlene Gonzales
looks much prettier than she was during the contest.
One could hardly believe she is the mother of two
year old twins Atasha and Andres. On May 27, she
and Aga will be celebrating their second wedding
anniversary.
At
5'8" Charlene is proud to say that after giving
birth she is back to her regular weight, 118 pounds.
She managed to maintain her 36-23-36 figure. She
definitely still looks the beauty queen that she
was.
"I
jogged a lot of time during my free time. I try
to avoid the sun. If the weather prevents me from
going out, I use the treadmill which I enjoy 'coz
it clocks calories. A featured which appeals to
someone mph burns around 600 calories and it keeps
my thighs and legs lean and tones. I use free weights
to firm up my arm muscles and this I do in my car
while I am muscles and this I do in my car while
I am on my way to she admits she also play badminton,
and if she has time, "I do go to the gym."
As
a host of Feel at Home (FAH) I am always on the
go. Good thing I use Cream Silk to take it even
more beautiful. In fact mas nakakapagod pa nga ang
FAH kesa sa dati kong program which is Keep on Dancing.
I have to do a lot of traveling here., so at times
I have to skip my jogging routine.
I
go slow on my diet. Since my marriage I try to keep
away from cooking 'coz Aga don't take rice but if
I do I eat the brown one. I don't eat meat just
fish and chicken. Soup and sandwich with smoked
turkey and a lot of Ceasar's salad with a especial
kind of mayonnaise are the regular nourishment I
consume. Anything fattening is taboo for me. No
butter, no salt.
There
are days however when I eat what I want. Sometimes
too join Aga while watching television. E, ang hilig
hilig niyan sa sitserya, so nakikikain din ako.
What I do afterwards is drink plenty to water."
Charlene
has also become fashion conscious. "There's
segment in my television program where clothes made
by known couturier are displayed. I learned a lot
from Joe Salazar. Inno Sotto. Larry Espinosa and
Rajo Laurel.
But
what really keeps Charlene really beautiful is the
happiness that marriage and motherhood have brought
her. "Mas harassed ako when I was still single.
I worked and worked but I noticed na hindi masyadong
lumalabas yong artistic side ko. I feel more relaxed
now that I am married. Aside from that I find my
work challenging. I am able to see different places
tackle different problems and one realize that as
the show evolves, certain things has to be done.
Nagiging creative ako. Mas happy ako dito. I learned
to make accessories which I can wear and can give
to my friends. My job has brought the self satisfaction.
She
admits that having wonderful family life helped
a lot changed her attitude towards life. "Mayakap
lang ako ng mga anak ko, masaya na ako. Aga is also
such a joyful person. Bigla na lang mangguglat yan.
He is a person who illuminates a room whenever he
is around." Definitely the theory that true
happiness makes a person radiates applies in the
case of Charlene. -
