Kris Aquino

RIS AQUINO is turning 35 on Valentine's Day while her current partner James Yap is turning 24 on February 15. They're supposed to wed this month but Kris opted to postpone it so they can have more time to prepare.

Kris dismisses rumors that they will be married in her favorite church, Baclaran, since it's a shrine for the Mother of Perpetual Help and weddings are not allowed there.

Right now, she's busy finishing "Sukob," a thriller for Director Chito Roño who previously  megged her in the superhit "Feng Shui."

For the first time in her life, she gets to  drive a car in the movie. "Kailangan kasi talaga ipakitang nagda-drive siya in the story," says Direk Chito. "So she had to take driving lessons for two days before we shot that scene showing her driving her car.

"Before
the take, talagang she was so nervous but she did it like a real pro for the sake of the movie, kahit only a few meters lang naman ang itinakbo ng kotse."

After this, Kris might do a comedy with AiAi delas Alas for Director Joel Lamangan, who previously  megged her in her hit comedy, "So Happy Together."

These two films will probably be her last movies as, after the wedding, she'll just concentrate on being a TV host and no longer accept acting jobs that will take too much of her time away from her family. She says she plans to have a baby with James by next year.

But as one writer quips: "Marami pang puwedeng mangyari between now and December.

"Malay mo nga kung matuloy 'yang wedding na 'yan?" To which another writer says: "Huwag naman kayong masyadong nega. "Ngayon nga lang may nag-alok kay Kris ng kasal, pabayaan n'yo nang lumigaya 'yung tao."

RYAN NOT MOVING BACK TO GMA YET

IS it true Ryan Agoncillo is planning to return to GMA-7 where he started in "Unang Hirit"? The rumor started because he is no longer seen in ABS-CBN's "MUP" where he's reportedly not happy with his minimal exposure."No, I'm not yet moving back to GMA," he says. "Not in the near future as I still have commitments with ABS. I took a leave from 'MUP' when I did 'Inday Bote' for the new show, 'Komiks', with Judy Ann Santos and guested in 'My Juan and Only', then I got busy with my photography so I decided ituloy-tuloy na ang break ko from the show. But I am happy where I am now."

Is it true he didn't bother to watch Juday's movie with Piolo Pascual, "Dont' Give Up On Us," as he might just get jealous when he sees the love scenes? "No. I did watch it. Wala namang selosan. I even congratulated her after I saw the movie kasi it's a good one. I also know kasi the hardships they went through with their schedules shooting it on location in Banaue and Sagada so natuwa naman akong the movie turned out well. It's the best local romantic film I've seen since 'Got2Believe'."

In "Inday Bote," he plays a taho vendor. Would he look believable in such a role considering he looks m ore like a coño kid? "It's a big challenge. I saw 'Inday Bote' when I was still a child but my role here is different from that of William Martinez in the original. Let's just say I tried to do my best and I have a very good coach, i Juday, so siguro naman, hindi ako mapapahiya. But I really enjoyed doing this comedy with her kasi the last time we worked together was in 'Maalaala Mo Kaya' and it was a heavy drama na puro iyakan. This one is much lighter. We shot it for three days and it was a lot of fun."

SHAINA-RAYVER TEAM HAS GREAT FUTURE, SAYS DIRECTOR

SHAINA MAGDAYAO plays the most challenging role of her career in "Agua Bendita" to be shown soon in ABS-CBN's "Komiks," that of twin sisters with totally different personalities. "It's not easy pala to play dual roles," she says. "As Agua, I'm the good girl. Mahinhin, mabait. As Bendita, I'm the maldita type, scheming and villainous."She's paired with Rayver Cruz of Anime, with whom she earlier did 'Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin'. "They say we have good chemistry on screen kaya pinagsama kami uli rito and now we play the lead roles at hindi lang kami support. Rayver is the blind playmate of Agua when they were children. But he left at pagbalik niya, he has regained his eyesight and he meets Bendita who pretends to be Agua. That starts the main conflict in the story."

The show's director, Erick Salud, says he sees great potential in the Shaina-Rayver love team. "They look good together on screen, both young and vibrant. Magandang personality and they are also good performers kaya I'm sure magki-click sa viewers ang tandem nila."
