The fine photos you see here? It started with a boyish crush we had on this alluring chinita. Here's what happened: We were buying some stuff (okay, C2 and Diatabs) at the Ministop next to our office building when we spotted her in a red tube top standing next to an energy drink promo booth. Thought bulbs blinked in sync above our heads: “Puwede yun, ah!” And so, with unkempt hair, nicotine breath, and all, we mustered courage to get a few inches closer for mobile number bartering—and, by God, did we succeed.

It was then that we found out Wella Khonghun was a commercial model doing the rounds at the industry circuit, including the recent Mossimo Bikini Summit where our fashion editor had met her and asked her to do a photo shoot for this cute rag, too. “What a coincidence, hanep dude!” we would've screamed if we were some coño kid. Instead, we piped a steady, “Ayuz.”

Finally, after weeks of endless bugging we nailed the 23-year-old stunner. And she does not only look beautiful in photographs, she openly says she'd date an FHM staffer. How she makes us blush.

What are you busy with?

I've been modeling for fashion shows, PR shoots, print ads, and product catalogs. I've also done a billboard ad for a sports shop, [the ad] is the one in Guadalupe. Pero nakatalikod ako, ha ha!

Let's hope. But I'm thinking of stopping my modeling career by next year. I just realized yung ganitong trabaho doesn't require too much thinking and I feel nare-relax yung brain ko.

Oh. Some sort of a voice from above talking to you?

This is what happened: During a bar tour for a cigarette brand, a customer asked me kung saan ako graduate and what my course was. I said I was from UST and a graduate of Business Administration. Biglang sabi niya, “Tapos nagbebenta ka ng sigarilyo?” Napaisip ako: Oo nga, the pay is good, okay naman yung work, but the thing is me coming from a Chinese family—it's not really demeaning, though—they expect me to have a business of my own. And besides all of my friends have their own business now.

We understand that by “business,” you're not talking of a babuyan or sari-sari store…

Ha ha! Probably a clothing business. Kasi with what I'm doing now nakikita ko yung trends sa clothes, so I feel like dun ako inclined. I draw and sketch in my free time, so nagha-harbor pa rin ako ng aking secret dream na maging fashion designer.

We heard you say earlier you were into sports in college…

I was in the UST UAAP soccer team for three years. I've been playing it for five years now.

Were you the star?

No, but I was on the starting 11 so that's good enough for me.

What's the newest sport you've tried?

I'm into boxing and skim-boarding now. I recently realized that I'm interested in skim-boarding when I went to Boracay for Mossimo Bikini Summit.

Do you still have those days when you just bum around and feel you're of no use to the world?

Very rare yung day na parang wala talaga akong ginagawa. And whenever I don't have work, I just go to the mall and eat alone.

Alone?

Yes, alone. Ha ha! Kasi I'm trying to be independent. I came from a string of relationships tapos ngayon lang ako naging single. I've been single for more than five months now. That's the longest actually. Kasi pag nagkaka-relationship ako it lasts for at least a year.

So you're back into the dating grind?

Well, I do date. Kasi with the job I'm in I get to meet a lot of people. Kasi nagkakataong hindi okay yung mga nakaka-date ko. You can't imagine how many dates I've been to since my ex and I broke up.

Maybe it's time you lowered your standards a bit?

I don't have high standards at all. I just want someone who's of my age. Ayoko ng artista, ayoko ng model. Kasi I went out with a couple of artistas and models and it didn't turn out well. Hindi kailangang guwapo, pero hindi dapat siya pangit, not the type who stands out in a way na, “Uy pangit nun o!” Gusto ko Chinese at magaling mag-English tsaka maabilidad.

“Maabilidad”?

Sa buhay. Yung tipong kahit iwanan mo ng damit lang ang meron siya mabubuhay siya in a year.

Does resourcefulness in the sack count?

Oo, dapat maabilidad din siya in that department. Kasi I'm a romantic and passionate person. So feeling ko kung hindi kami click so bed, sinasayang lang namin ang oras namin.

How do you know if you're “click”?

If we both get what we want, walang lumalamang. Yung pleasure na nakukuha niyo dapat patas.

By any chance, would you date an FHM staffer?

Probably yes, kasi at least totoo yung trabaho niya. He's more stable as compared to, say a model na you won't know hanggang kailan sila sikat.

You won't get jealous of the babes we take photos of, scarce clothing and all?

Not really. One thing I learned is when it comes to guys who see a lot of girls na magaganda, they become so used to beautiful face won't make a difference. So iba na yung basis niya, hindi na yung itsura.

Cheers to that! But we have to make sure you, on the other hand, would be a good girlfriend…

I think I'm sweet, fun, quirky, and I can be a companion to a guy. At ito, totoo—a lot of people even say I'm like a guy. I enjoy stuff that guys enjoy. Walang limit yung things na nagugustuhan ko.

We like to watch a lot of Bang Bus. Mind sharing couch space?

Not naman to that extent. For example, I had an ex who was into online gaming, siyempre I tried it too. I also had an ex who's into soccer—hindi kami nagde-date, we'd just play soccer thrice a week, tapos pag-uwi sa kanila we'd watch soccer games on TV. Although I must admit after a while nakakasura na siya.

It's safe to assume you're the submissive kind, then?

I'm a big fan of compromise. If you say I can't do this, I will go halfway and even further. But I can only do so much for a certain time. Sigura after a year, matatauhan na ako, ha ha!
